Our Response
IQ Fire solutions carried out a fire risk assessment to check any changes would be in line with fire safety compliance. Our site survey identified that whilst the current fire alarm system provided adequate cover for the existing building, it did not have the capacity to be extended for use in the portacabins. We therefore recommended and installed a new advanced fire alarm panel that could make use of the existing 150+ existing devices and easily accommodate the upgrade.
IQ Fire created new drawings and diagrammatic zone charts in line with compliance and regulations. In addition we produced an O&M manual and provided training to the appointed fire marshals.
The Results
The Portacabins are now covered by the school’s fire alarm system. It is important to not only have a compliant system in place, but know how to use it. The school were delighted by our comprehensive assessment and the work carried out. The project was completed on budget and on time.
IQ Fire Solutions now provide an ongoing servicing contract to the school.
