Routine & Responsive Maintenance

Regular maintenance visits are essential to safeguarding your premises from fire risk – giving you confidence that your fire systems will work properly when you need it the most. These visits are also a key part of how we help you meet your legal responsibilities. We make sure a qualified engineer checks your fire detection panel and associated devices and keeps everything in perfect working order for you. Rapid response maintenance visits are also vital whenever breakages or faults have been identified. Time sensitivity is crucial as any delay can put people on the premises at greater risk of injury or fatality in the event of a fire

The Service Visit

Your bespoke site Fire Risk Assessment will dictate the frequency of your fire alarm maintenance in London, Essex, Cambridge and West Kent to ensure your equipment is appropriately maintained and monitored as required. This process ensures your fire detection systems are functioning as intended and will respond as expected in the event of a fire.

During the visit our IQ fire engineer will:

  • Review a copy of your Health and Safety policy, fire logbook and fire risk assessment, to identify any actions required
  • Carry out a full maintenance inspection, fully compliant with BS5839-1-2025
  • Submit an inspection certificate advising of any areas of system non-compliance and corrective actions required
  • Arrange for Service Support Team to provide a quotation for any additional works

The quantity of devices tested during each service visit will depend upon the frequency of service i.e 25% (quarterly) or 50% (bi-annual) visits per annum and as per the fire risk assessment report for the site. BS5839 recommends that 100% of input devices and fire alarm panels should be tested over a 12-month period.

Following your maintenance visit, which will be carried out with minimal interference to your daily processes, you will receive an inspection certificate for your premises.
The engineer will also make all relevant recordings in your fire logbook.
