London Fire Brigade has concluded giving evidence for phase 1 of the Grenfell Tower Inquiry*.
London Fire Commissioner, Dany Cotton said:
“None of us will ever forget the loss of life and everlasting impact on all those who have suffered because of the Grenfell Tower fire. Eighty London Fire Brigade staff have so far shared what they did that night and many more have provided written evidence. I will always be proud of what every firefighter, officer and control officer did under such terrifying conditions and on many occasions risking their own lives to save others.
“Now it’s important to listen to the evidence of the bereaved, survivors and residents and continue with both phase one and two of this inquiry, which I will ensure receives all the support it needs from London Fire Brigade.”
*Based on the confirmed requirements of the Grenfell Tower Inquiry at this time and acknowledging that the inquiry may request further evidence from Brigade staff if needed during phase 1.
